TOP 10 To-Do For October

1) Plan your visit to one of the many pumpkin patches in our area. Here’s a link you might find useful: http://tinyurl.com/2ftkwa5

2) Peak bulb planting time in the St. Louis area is the end of the month, visit your local garden center now to get the best selection. If picking them out is more fun to you than planting them, call us and we’ll do the planting for you.

3) Christmas is just 81 days away. Now’s the time to update your mailing list and start your gift list. Call At Your Service (314.994.1382) if you’d like us to organize your mailing list into a computer database and/or address your holiday greeting cards for you.

4) When there’s a nip in the air, whip up a big batch of chili. Freeze ½ for a future meal to have ready for a busy night.

5) If you need a new cell phone, check out this offer from Best Buy http://tinyurl.com/23ke5j Their free phone Friday promotion is offering one new Smartphone free every Friday in October with a 2-year activation.

6) Get rid of the leaves on your lawn. Cool-season grasses revitalize themselves in the fall and are actually the most active during cool weather. Fallen leaves deprive your lawn of needed sunlight. Call At Your Service or email us (info@atyourservicestlcounty.com) and we’ll schedule leaf blowing for you.

7) Enjoy Halloween. Dress up! Here’s a link to thousands of fun costumes you can make yourself. http://www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com/ . My husband and I are going as Jelly Belly’s. No jokes please.

8) October is Breast Cancer Awareness month—show your support. Schedule your annual mammogram, wear pink, participate in one of the many Breast Cancer Awareness events being held throughout St. Louis. My favorite is Celebrate Spot—a fund-raising walk through Forest Park with your favorite canine. http://www.celebrate-fitness.org Hurry and register—the walk is October 10th.

9) Time to clean your closet and switch from warm weather to cool weather clothes. Remember: less is more. Dump it, donate it, fix it, or store it.

10) If you’re in the market for a large appliance, you’re in luck! New models hit the floor this month, so you can get deep discounts on last year’s models. This is also a good month to buy cameras and computers.

That’s it for October! Call At Your Service of St. Louis County for help with these tasks or anything else that’s been on your “To Do List” for too long. We’d love to hear from you!
